Live Media Buying Workshop Q & A

Over the past few weeks I have received quite a few emails for readers who are interested in attending my media buying workshop next month in Toronto.

I thought it would be best to conduct a webinar that introduced media buying to readers who were not familiar with this form of traffic and answer any questions that they may have about the workshop.

You can watch the webinar by clicking on the video below.

You can still reserve a seat at the webinar by Clicking Here

See you in Toronto next month!

The Art Of Story Telling

The next few days will mark the three year anniversary passing of a good friend and smart marketer by the name of Raj Shahani.  Tragically his life ended short, but he left a lasting impression on all the people around him with his enthusiasm and insights.

The first time I ever communicated with Raj was when he emailed me to ask about my Pay Per Click Formula course.  All he wrote in his email was “Is this real?”  I replied, “It is as real as you want it to be…”  After that we become good friends and he went on to become on of my most successful students.  One of the skills that made Raj successful was the importance of story-telling in the marketing process.

I have included a video below where Raj talks about story-telling and we also cover the social proofing aspect of fake blogs and fake articles.  Although very unethical, you can still learn a lot from these fake blogs and fake articles.  They are basically story telling and you can take the marketing concepts from these blogs to create ethical advertising campaigns.

One of Raj’s favourite projects was trying to get clean water to people in the world who did not have access to it.  He worked closely with Charity Water to raise enough money to build fresh water wells.  His memorial page is still active at Charity Water and you can donate at any time – Raj’s Charity Water Memorial Page

Raj, thanks for being an inspiration to all,

CPA Marketing In 2013

Earlier today I recorded a webinar for hundreds of attendees who wanted to know how to get started and profitable with CPA marketing in 2013.  I actually started two live campaigns on the webinar and within 30 minutes of the webinar ending I started to get clicks and conversions on one of the offers. See the screen shot below:

fubar

This campaign was set up with 7search traffic with an average bid of $0.05 CPC and it is already getting a $0.13 EPC meaning that I am making an $0.08 profit on every single click.  I have already added more traffic sources to this campaign and hope to hit 100 leads before the end of the day for this campaign.  This just goes to show that nothing happens until you take action and make things happen.

Watch the webinar below by clicking on the video.

If you enjoyed the webinar, please retweet or Like this blog post. If you have any questions about CPA marketing, feel free to leave it in the comments section below and I will answer it.  You can order CPA Quantum at by clicking here.

Best wishes,

How To Make Money With Display Advertising And Real-Time Bidding

Over the last decade I have spent millions of dollars on paid advertising such as PPC and PPV, but I never spent that much when it came to display advertising.

I was always reluctant to get involved in media buying although I had a lot of affiliate managers and friends telling me that it was huge and massively profitable back in 2010.

The first thing that came to my mind was why all of the hoopla about media buying in 2010 since this is the oldest form of advertising online?

auction
I mean that first form of advertising was banner ads and back in 1995, Yahoo was charging as much as $30 per thousands impressions for 468 x 60 banners.

I challenged any one of my affiliate managers to show me one affiliate who was massively successful with media buying without running fake blogs or fake articles.

These same people who were encouraging me to get into media buying suddenly went quiet.

Nada. Ziltch. Zippo. Not a word.

So all of a sudden media buying become a hot topic because it was easily scalable and tons of affiliates were making money by basically cheating consumers with fake blogs and articles.

That was until the FTC came in and started suing affiliate networks and affiliates.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am sure there were affiliates cashing in with legitimate display campaigns at the time, but they were the minority.

I didn’t think twice about media buying until a good friend of mine told me that he was making great money buying display ads to advertise his ebook product on Clickbank.

I found this very intriguing because it was a legitimate product being promoted via banners ads without any cheap tricks or shenanigans.

This is what started my interest in media buying the last few years and since then I have had many success and failures with media buying.

The most common myth is that you need thousands of dollars to get started, but that has changed a lot and there are networks that allow you to get started for as little as $10 such as BuySellAds.com.

Real-Time Bidding (RTB)

Real-time bidding using a media buying platform like Sitescout.com allows you to buy a bucket of 1,000 impressions at a dynamic bid price.

This allows you as a media buyer to basically buy impressions in real-time at your set price allowing you to value each individual traffic source.

Sitescout.com is an easy-to-use, web-based RTB platform that allows you to create and manage banner and mobile ad campaigns in real time.

Sitescout works as a middleman between dozens of premier ad networks and let’s you tap into hundreds of millions of available daily impressions.

I was surprised to learn that Sitescout headquarters were only a 25 minute drive from my house so I went down and met some of the co-founders who explained to me how the technology works.

Since then I have run some sample campaigns and attended some of their live events.  Below is a photo of the founder and CEO of Sitescout, Paul Mokbel on my left and the director of marketing, Ratko Vidakovic on my right.

If you are looking to test out media buying without having to commit thousands of dollars, yet still have access to a huge inventory of display advertising, Sitescout.com is a good place to start.
